Instead of a daily image today, have some moving images! Keith and I shot these videos at Coilhouse’s Black & White & Red All Over Ball back in August. A few words about Coilhouse and why it is special to me…

Receiving the very first issue of Coilhouse magazine in the mail in 2008 was complete magic. I was still living in repressive ol’ Singapore then, and I yearned to leave. I dreamed of moving to a more beautiful place where I could meet far more interesting people and brilliant artistic collaborators. People who lived on the same wavelength that I did - who were interested in creating. Coilhouse - and the depth and beauty and love with which it was created - represented this community of people for me. In an environment where corporate culture is the only sanctioned reality and where doing anything for any reason other than profit is very much a foreign idea, Coilhouse was tangible evidence that, somehow, my dream could be made reality. In walking the path to realizing this dream, I found my way to New York City and fell in love. When I finally moved to the United States in 2010, Issue 05 was on the coffee table waiting for me.

These were the thoughts swimming in my mind when I finally got to meet the wonderful creators of Coilhouse, Nadya Lev and Meredith Yayanos at the Ball. I never thought I’d be able to see something so beautiful come to life, get the chance to capture it and to meet the people behind the magazine that got right to the heart of the creative culture I yearned for so deftly and beautifully.

Thank you Coilhouse. For being fucking awesome.

Right back at you, Abi! xoxoxoxoxox

So. pretty.
